William C. Martin is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in handling high-profile civil and criminal litigation. Individuals and companies seek his counsel on issues ranging from finance and commercial contracts to investigations and regulatory matters.
As lead counsel, Mr. Martin has successfully represented companies, individuals, defendants, and plaintiffs in areas of the law including labor and employment, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property. He also has handled sensitive internal investigations for corporate clients in the United States and abroad. As an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Martin prosecuted criminal matters involving elaborate financial schemes, firearms, and narcotics.
Mr. Martin began his legal career as a federal law clerk in Chicago, first for the Honorable James F. Holderman in the Northern District of Illinois, and then for the Honorable Ann C. Williams in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Today, as a Partner at Henderson Parks, LLC, Mr. Martin is a premiere attorney to “at-will” employees and advises executives, professionals, and employees in all facets of federal and state anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws.
Mr. Martin’s practice also includes representing universities, colleges, companies, boards of directors, and audit committees in a wide variety of business disputes and corporate transactions including Title IX, SEC, and FCPA inquiries. Prior to joining Henderson Park, Mr. Martin worked for several years at Jones Day and DLA Piper handling internal investigations, financial and commercial fraud matters, and business litigation involving the financial and health care industries.
A graduate of Stanford University, Mr. Martin holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He also holds two business licenses: FINRA Series 7 and FINRA Series 66.
