Mr. Katahira’s practice focuses on: Commercial Litigation.
Mr. Katahira began his legal career as a Legal Honors Law Clerk at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of General Counsel. After graduating from the Legal Honors program, Mr. Katahira worked in HUD’s Office of General Counsel, Office of Program Enforcement, where he helped negotiate settlements for mortgage borrowers who unlawfully paid mortgage lenders pay-to-pay fees when paying their mortgages.
During law school, Mr. Katahira worked on civil rights matters when externing for the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of North Carolina and interning for the Washington Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs and ACLU of North Carolina. He was also the Publication Editor for the North Carolina Law Review, Volume 101, a competing member for the Holderness Moot Court Appellate Advocacy Team, and a case manager for UNC Law’s Innocence Project.
